Nutmeg

1. Medicinal properties

The humiliation of the valley is not a mere plant. This is a parasitic plant, living off another host tree. In the spring, the sprouts will pierce the ground, rising up like a pestle, the tip is slightly pointed, the top is covered with a yellow cloth, glittering in the sunlight.

The trunk is usually about 15-30 cm tall. In some cases, trees are up to several meters tall.

Flowers usually bloom in May, June will flower densely. Flowers growing from the top of the plant are pale yellow, bell-shaped, 5 petals split, the top of the flower is yellow or light purple.

The fruit is used in late June, early July. The fruit is tiny and gray in color.

2. Distribution

The herb is distributed in high, shady, cool mountainous areas like Shaanxi, Gansu (China). In addition, the medicine is also found in Mongolia, Japan, and Korea.

In Vietnam, rare medicinal herbs are found. However, some states like Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, and Lai Chau may have "Nuc Dung Dung".

3. Parts used

The roots that develop into tubers are used to make medicine. Large, soft, oily tubers with a smooth, black outer skin are considered good quality.

4. Harvest – Preliminary processing

It is fine to collect the hummus in spring or autumn. In the spring, after picking the medicine, it is left on the ground to dry, called Diem Dai Van. In the autumn, when picking herbs, choosing big trees to put them in a salt barrel, after a year, they take them out to dry, called Diem Dai Van.

5. Prepare medicine

Prepare hummus in the following ways:

• Leave the tubers, main items, dry or dry. In addition, the medicine can be soaked with salt and then dried or dried. When using, wash, slice about 1-2 mm thick, drain (according to Vietnamese herbal medicine).
